19 business projects recognized for their sustainable practices

A set of 19 business initiatives were recognized yesterday for adopting sustainability practicesinnovation and social impact aligned with sustainable development goals (SDG), as part of the Catalog of Promising Practices organized by the National Council of Private Enterprise (Conep) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

In the fifth edition of this award, the president of the Conep, Celso Juan Marranziniexplained that the initiative seeks to promote the integration of sustainability as a transversal axis in the corporate managementencouraging excellence within an ecosystem that promotes good business practices.

Over time, the catalog has motivated companies to present their initiatives, receiving the postulation of 66 new projects this year, much more than the 38 that initially submitted in the first edition of this program, in the 2020.

Of these, 93 practices have already been recognized, with investments that exceed the 4,543 million dollars. “These numbers show that the Dominican private sector It is more than an economic engine; “It is an agent of transformation capable of generating real changes in people’s lives,” he said.

For the resident representative of UNDP in the Dominican Republic, Ana Maria Diazthe projects demonstrate that the dominican companies They know how to compete, innovate and grow, while creating decent jobs that drive climate actionfinancial inclusion and gender equality.

“This initiative that brings us together shows not only sustainable actions inside the Dominican business communitybut also how these contribute to national development priorities and, therefore, add to mechanisms of sustainable financing“he highlighted.
