A total of 1,897 packs of drugs were seized in the border states of Falcón and Táchira during procedures carried out in the last 48 hours, according to reports.
One of the operations was carried out in the Baja Baroa sector, on the coast of Falcón, where military agents began a pursuit of a vessel that was sailing 3.5 nautical miles off Cabo San Román. At the site they detained a fishing boat that was on fire and inside which they found a partially charred corpse.
Inside the boat, 1,640 blocks of marijuana and 23 blocks of cocaine were found, which in total amounted to 700 kilos of drugs, according to a report from the Amuay Coastal Surveillance Station and Detachment 131 of the Bolivarian National Guard.
In Táchira there were two procedures, one of them at the Citizen Service Point located in La Tendida where they seized 170 blocks of marijuana (88 kilos 835 grams) and 13 of cocaine (13 kilos 505), according to a report from Detachment 213 of the Bolivarian National Guard.
The panelas were hidden among several baskets of vegetables that were being transported in a Ford Cargo with license plate A34AI2L, whose occupants were arrested and identified as Juan Carlos Molina Duque and Luis Guillermo Rodríguez González. These people came from Colombia and were heading to Charallave (Miranda).
And at the Zoom parcel delivery company, based in San Antonio del Táchira, the military seized 31 blocks of marijuana (21 kilos) hidden in a false bottom. During that procedure, Corina de las Mercedes Rodríguez and Daniel Josué Barreto González were arrested.
The aforementioned package was destined for the city of Valera, Trujillo state, according to the report from GNB Detachment 212.
Another anti-drug procedure took place at the Citizen Service Point located in Tierra Blanca, on the border between Guárico and Aragua. There they arrested Neleyda Coromoto Torres Delgado who was traveling in a public transport unit.
GNB officers searched the woman and seized 34 cocaine thimbles.
The detainees were handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
