161 new officers graduated from the National Police School

The different police stations of zones 1 and 2 of Montevideo will receive 161 policemen who graduated, this Thursday the 6th, from the National School. The officials will reinforce, mainly, the units specialized in domestic violence and the anti-drug squad. In 2022, the educational institution trained 1,398 men and women who perform tasks in the Ministry of the Interior.

The deputy director general of the Ministry of the Interior, José Pedro Sesser, and the Montevideo Police Chief, Mario D’Elía, among other authorities of the organization, attended the graduation ceremony.

During 2022, 378 agents, 737 executive police officers and 207 officials from the support sub-echelon were trained. In addition, 287 officers graduated from the institute in the interior of the country, totaling 1,398 people who passed through the National Police School this year.

The new police officers will join the Montevideo Headquarters to strengthen the department’s police stations, especially in zones 1 and 2, the units specializing in domestic violence and the anti-drug squad.
