Lawyer Jesús Manuel Silva was sentenced to 16 years and nine months in prison by a court for violence against women, reported on his twitter account Claritza Ron, now the ex-wife of the defendant, who was the victim of beatings, among other damages.
Silva, who was the moderator of a television program, was deprived of his liberty in March 2021 when the Public Ministry accused him of physical violence, psychological violence, harassment, harassment, and promotion or incitement to hatred.
Silva was arrested by the Venezuelan authorities in March 2021. The lawyer failed to comply with the protection and security measures for the crimes of psychological and physical violence against women, which weighed in his file for assault against his ex-wife.
The Prosecutor’s Office issued an arrest warrant against Silva on March 17, 2021, for crimes related to gender violence.
