With just 16 years of age and less than two seasons of exclapcas experience, Mexican Ernesto Rivera has been confirmed as a driver of the Red Bull Junior Team to play the FIA Formula 3 in 2026 with the Campos Racing team.
Currently, Rivera marches in the 3rd place of the Eurocup-3 championship, a category in which he has surprised by his speed, consistency and adaptation against pilots more experienced.
From karts to the elite of motoring
Ernesto’s sports career has been meteoric. After only two years in Kartism, he managed to conquer multiple national championships in the United States and Mexico, also becoming the only Mexican pilot to win twice the prestigious Supernationals of Las Vegas.
In 2024 he debuted in Europe by competing in the Spanish F4, where he won victories, several podiums and finished the season in the 5th general position. His results called the attention of Red Bull, which in September of that same year incorporated him into his young talents program led by Helmut Marko.
Way to Fia F3
The step to the FIA Formula 3 represents the most important challenge in the short but ascending trajectory of Rivera. The category shares calendar with Formula 1 in the main circuits of the world, among which are:

• Monza (Italy)
• Red Bull Ring (Austria)
• Barcelona-Catalunya (Spain)
• Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium)
• Montecarlo (Monaco)
• Hungaroring (Hungary)
• Zandvoort (Netherlands)
In addition, Rivera is expected to dispute a winter regional formula championship in the Middle East or Oceania, with the aim of arriving with greater preparation for its debut season in F3.
A commitment to Mexico in motoring
The young pilot has made it clear that his goal is to put the name of Mexico at the top of international motor racing and continue with an ascending career that brings him closer to formula 1.
