At the end of this Saturday afternoon, the Administrative Department of Disaster Risk Management (DAGRD) reported an emergency in the upper part of the Santa Elena creek, east of Medellin.
The incident occurred at kilometer three plus 800 and involved a dog and 16 people, 12 adults and 4 minors, who they were dragged into a dangerous and difficult to access area after the tributary presented a sudden increase in its flow.

The fact was also recorded by the mayor of the city, Daniel Quintero, on his social networks. “16 bathers who were left in a dangerous area of difficult access after the sudden rise of the Quebrada Santa Elena. According to information provided by the Administrative Department of Disaster Risk Management, all the people involved in this incident were rescued by three crews from the Medellin Fire Department and only one presented a minor knee injury that was treated by units of pre-hospital care personnel who were present at the scene.
