Faced with the arrival of several police contingents from Apurímac, Arequipa and Cusco to the area occupied by community members in the vicinity of the mine The Bambasthese residents began an assembly this Wednesday morning in order to decide whether to stay in the place or withdraw to their community as the authorities demand.
Edison Vargas, president of the Fuerabamba peasant community, mentioned to Correo that there are 700 residents who are on the Las Bambas property as a protest for alleged breaches by the mining company, and that they will not move from the place until they reach an agreement with the company.
Early in the morning the residents ate breakfast from the common pots they have in the area, haranguing against the private company, however as the hours passed the claims calmed down.

Let us remember that the PCM has recently declared a State of Emergency in Challhuahuacho due to the protest against Las Bambas, this would lead to the eviction of the invaders by the PNP.
