15 years in prison for a woman who killed her partner

The First Collegiate Court of the Duarte province sentenced a woman who took the life of her partner last year to 15 years in prison.

The sentence was issued against Ana Tahiri Acevedo, who committed the blood act against Willy Rafael Cruz Zapata.

The file details that on May 21, 2021, the woman sentenced today took advantage of the fact that Cruz Zapata was sharing in front of a cafeteria, located on Main Street in the La Isleta sector, in the Hostos Municipality, where she appeared, wearing black clothing and a wig, and due to the carelessness of the victim, he produced a stab wound, which later caused his death.

Upon injuring the deceased today, the attacker fled and, as she ran, she lost her wig, which allowed the locals to identify her.

The defendant was later arrested in the Seiba de los Pájaros section of the Villa Rivas Municipality, where the murder weapon was also recovered.

By order of the court, Acevedo must serve the sentence in the penitentiary center of the Hermanas Mirabal province.
