The National Meteorological Service (SMN) maintains yellow alerts for extreme temperatures due to heat for much of the north and center of the countryand sectors of Mendoza, Neuquén and Chubut, while raising the warning in the north of Salta to orange level for sustained thermal marks that “can be very dangerous” for the population.
The provinces of Tucumán, Corrientes and Formosa have their entire territory under a meteorological warning for temperatures that “can be dangerous, especially for risk groups, such as boys and girls, people over 65 years of age, with chronic diseases,” the SMN indicated. .
The yellow level, which implies a “mild to moderate effect on health”, also extends to most of Misiones, Entre Ríos and Santa Fewhile affecting the northwest of Chaco, towns in the north and center of the province of Buenos Aires, the center of Córdoba and the city of Buenos Aires.
The SMN recommended that the population of these areas stay hydrated, not expose themselves to high temperatures, avoid physical activity, and wear light and light-colored clothing.
The SMN foresees maximum temperatures of 40 degrees for the capital of Santiago del Estero this afternoon; 39 in Resistencia, in Chaco; 38 in the Formosa town of Las Lomitas; 37 in San Miguel de Tucuman; and 37 in Paraná, in Entre Ríos.
Towards the north of the country, the SMN raised the alert for the northwest of the province of Salta to orange due to intense heat with a “moderate to high effect on health” that can be “very dangerous”, especially for risk groups .
The areas under orange level are the town of General José de San Martín and the Yungas of Iruya, Orán and Santa Victoria, while the yellow alert is maintained for the rest of the province.
In the city of Oran, a maximum of 38 degrees is expected this afternoon, while 34 degrees are expected for Rosario de la Frontera and 33 degrees for the capital city.
The yellow alert extends to towns in the south of Mendoza and the northwest of Neuquén, where maximum temperatures are estimated between 30 and 35 degrees.
The southeast of Jujuy is also under yellow alert in the cities of El Carmen, Ledesma, Palpalá, San Antonio, San Pedro, Santa Bárbara, Valle Grande and the lower areas of Doctor Manuel Belgrano and Tilcara.
At the same time, The yellow alert extends to towns in the south of Mendoza and the northwest of Neuquén, where maximum temperatures are estimated between 30 and 35 degrees.
In Patagonia, the yellow level reaches only west of Chubut in the Andean areas and the Cushamen, Futaleufú, Languiñeo and Tehuelches plateaus.
The SMN recommended that the population of these areas stay hydrated, not expose themselves to high temperatures, avoid physical activity, and wear light and light-colored clothing.
