During the meeting some youth deputies presented to the Ombudsman, complaints of situations that are currently registered in their schools
The 141 youth deputies from educational establishments throughout the country participated in a discussion with the Ombudsman Eduardo Leblanc González, and took the opportunity to present the anomalies presented by the educational centers in which they study.
The defender also explained to them the role played by the Ombudsman’s Office as a guarantor of people’s Human Rights and the possible violation.
Specifically during the meeting, some youth deputies presented to the Ombudsman, complaints about situations that are currently registered in their schools such as infrastructure and lack of basic public services, which were addressed to guarantee the right to education.
The 2022-2023 Youth Assembly is made up of 142 middle school students from schools in the 10 provinces of the country; It is made up of 71 main deputies and 71 substitutes and takes place from September 12 to 16 under the coordination of the Ministry of Education (MEDUCA) and the National Assembly.
