1,254 Bricomiles activated in Caracas for the rehabilitation of schools

Authorities of the National Government are deployed in different parishes of Caracasin order to supervise the advances of the Military Community Brigades (Bricomiles) of the education sector, which will be in charge of the rehabilitation of the capital’s schools.

Specifically, 1,254 Bricomiles They are deployed throughout the capital city, in order to work on the rehabilitation of 1,343 schools.

The mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez; was activated in the Educational Unit January 23, to supervise the recovery work of this campus.

«We are activated in 93% of the educational units, and this is one of the oldest schools, with 68 years, located in the 23 de Enero parish and with a capacity for 1,143 students. We are working together, together with the community, on his recovery », he wrote on his account on the social network Twitter.

30% waterproofed Caricuao school

The Minister for Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez, was deployed at the Roberto Martínez National Educational Unit, in Caricuao; in order to supervise the works for the recovery of the infrastructure of the campus, which has an enrollment of 1,069 students.

In this sense, he highlighted the work carried out by the teaching staff of the campus, “to guarantee the recovery of this educational space.”

In statements broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, he explained that the campus received supplies of materials and supplies for its recovery, which includes lighting and painting.

For her part, the campus director, María Parra, pointed out that, to date, 30% of the physical plant, made up of 10 classrooms, has been waterproofed; as well as the lighting works of spaces and corridors.

Work continues in schools in El Valle and La Vega

The Bricomiles are also active in the educational centers of the El Valle and La Vega parishes, in Caracas.

In the El Valle parish, the Minister for Education, Yelitze Santaella, was present, who stated that, to date, 26,354 Bricomiles have been constituted throughout the national territory, which represents 95% of those needed for the recovery of the schools.

From the UEBN Carmen Maizo de Bello, in El Valle, Santaella indicated that 5,870 schools nationwide will be addressed.

For his part, the Minister for Youth and Sports, Mervin Maldonado, highlighted the work being carried out at the Niño Simón Educational Unit in La Vega.

These works – he explained – include the placement of lights, bathroom repairs and general beautification of the campus.

“It is the organized people that rise up that shows that there is no blockade that can with force,” he pointed out.
