The Territorial Integration Scholarship (BIT) is a benefit implemented by the National Board of School Aid and Scholarships (JUNAEB) in Chile, with the objective of supporting students who must travel outside their towns to access higher education. This program is intended mainly for those who reside in areas such as the province of Chiloé, where there are not enough educational offers at advanced levels.
The benefit provided by Territorial Integration Scholarship It is distributed in two parts: a freely available monthly allocation equivalent to 1.87 Monthly Tax Units (UTM), which corresponds to approximately $124,400 per month to cover basic expenses such as food or accommodation. In addition, beneficiary students receive an annual allocation of 5.79 UTM, about $385,300, to cover travel costs.
Applications for the Territorial Integration Scholarship will be enabled starting October 4, through the Scholarship Portal of Junaeb. Those interested must enter the platform, register if they do not have an account, and complete the corresponding steps to apply or renew the scholarship. Once the process is completed, the results will be published during the third week of November, which will allow applicants to know if they were selected to receive this benefit before the end of the year.
To access the Territorial Integration Scholarshipstudents must meet a series of requirements. Among them, one of the most important is residing in the province of Chiloé and having to travel outside of your town to study. In addition, they must prove their status as regular students in a higher education institution recognized by the State and not based in their place of residence.
Other requirement is to be registered in 80% of the Social Household Registry (RSH), which ensures that the benefit is aimed at students who come from families with fewer economic resources. In addition, it is necessary to have passed at least 50% of the subjects taken in the last academic year, which guarantees that the beneficiaries maintain good academic performance. Likewise, high school graduates must have a minimum GPA of 5.0 to be able to apply.
