Three disciplinary investigations in cases involving officers of the National Police (PN), carried out by the Directorate of Professional Responsibility (DRP).
This was indicated by the Director General of the PN, John Dornheim, when he stressed that these investigations are carried out to determine the procedure that corresponds in both situations, emphasizing that “discipline is the backbone of the Institution.”
“We guarantee due process and the investigations take a legal course that is complied with,” said the Director General, Dornheim.
In the first case, which occurred on July 31, 2022 in the village of Ancón, in which a unit in the rank of corporal is also involved, three disciplinary investigations were opened for the conduct of the uniformed officer.
Meanwhile, in the second case that occurred on October 18 in Pacora, the corresponding processes were opened, one of the offenses being proven drunkenness.
The DRP reported that it has received some 1,300 complaints and 120 police officers have been dismissed as a result of the investigations.
The authorities stressed that the National Police maintains its commitment to citizenship and does not tolerate conduct that denigrates the good image of the institution.
