The memory of Smata

The national leadership of the union headed by Ricardo Pignanelli, praised this Wednesday the figure of former President Néstor Kirchner on the 12th anniversary of his death this Friday, and affirmed that “that day the comrade who always stood by his convictions passed to immortality.” .

A statement from the union organization noted that the former head of state was “a man from Patagonia, mayor of the Santa Cruz city of Río Gallegos and governor of that province for four consecutive periods, always supported by his convictions.”

“Kirchner made a call in his inaugural speech upon assuming the presidency, in 2003, that moved those who heard him, because he assured that ‘he came to propose a dream: the reconstruction of one’s own identity as a people and as a Nation and the construction of truth and justice”affirmed the union in the press document.

For the union, Kirchner was “a representative of Peronism, trained in Peronism and returned the lost faith”, and emphasized that the former president was “the burning flame that the young people who responded to their call for solidarity and full participation needed so that they could to be protagonists of the destiny of the Homeland”.

The Smata concluded that the mechanical workers “will always keep him in their hearts as an example of struggle in defense of workers’ rights.”

in Santa Cruz

The presentation of the itinerant and interactive photographic exhibition “Néstor Kirchner, man of the Homeland” began this Wednesday the acts that will take place in Rio gallegos in tribute to the former mayor of the city, three times governor of Santa Cruz and former president of Argentina, on the 12th anniversary of his death.

the lieutenant governor Eugene Quirogawhen presenting the exhibition, reflected that on October 27 -in Santa Cruz, a provincial holiday- “we commemorate the epic of a Santacruceño who was able to crown a project and a collective dream, from the South, at the bottom of the Homeland, being very few , reaching not only the Presidency of the Nation but also becoming a Latin American leader who valued politics”.

The provincial official warned that the former president “effectively made that phrase that speaks of changing reality come true.”

“In Caleta Olivia he made a port, to materialize this that everything is possible and that politics is the tool of true transformation. He demonstrated it here, he demonstrated it in the Nation. After Perón and Evita, history marks that Nestor and Christina,” he stressed.

Quiroga insisted that this date “is the commemoration of the epic of this enormous Santa Cruz.”

The exhibition, presented at the “28 de Noviembre” Library of the Santa Cruz Chamber of Deputies, is a photographic compilation of family archives, of the historical archives of Río Gallegos and the province, archives of the newspaper La Opinión Austral, of the magazine Thesis and Télam Agency.

“With this sample, we intend to tell the Argentine history from the first Peronism to the present, from the life of the contemporary ex-president of those processes of which he was a witness, a secondary actor and finally a main protagonist”, was highlighted in the presentation.

The exhibition was created by the photographer Pablo Baca and the Parliamentarians of Mercosur Mario Metaza and Damián Brizuela in 2016 with an itinerant and interactive nature.given that in each presentation he invites the neighbors to add their photographs with the former president.

Quiroga was “with various mixed feelings” when presenting it and highlighted the initiative of Baca and the Mercosur parliamentarians.

“Being interactive, it gets bigger every day,” he added.

The provincial official highlighted the interest that the exhibition has aroused in all corners of the country, “especially in the northern provinces, because Néstor worked and changed their lives, touched their souls.”

Provincial deputy Rocío García toured the exhibition with Néstor Iván and Emilia, children she shares with Máximo Kirchner, who were very curious to discover their grandfather Néstor in each photograph.

Also participating in the presentation was Kirchner’s former driver, Rudy Ulloa, who is presenting “My Friend the President” in the country, a book of his authorship that he left as reference material in the legislative library.

“It is the experience that Néstor Kirchner gave me on a personal level and also to all of you,” said Ulloa about the book that he will present tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. at the Command of the Front for Victory.

For the businessman “it is easier to speak elsewhere, here it is difficult because everyone has enough to write a book about Nestor, because he left us all something.”

The acts in homage to Néstor Kirchner will continue this Thursday at 2:00 p.m. with a call from the Frente de Todos to concentrate on the corner of Tucumán and Jujuy de the city of Rio Gallegos and move to the local cemetery where the remains of the former president rest in a mausoleum.

The “Los Muchachos Peronistas” Group, meanwhile, convened for 7:00 p.m. at the corner of Defensa and Pasteur, in the Del Carmen neighborhood, where a statue of the former president stands.
