The federal judge of Lomas de Zamora, Federico Villena, authorized the departure from the country of 12 of the 19 crew members of the Emtrasur plane held in Ezeiza, Argentina.
According to Page 12, the magistrate ordered this Monday the return of passports eleven Venezuelans and one Iranian.
In a 267-page ruling, Judge Villena considered that there are still elements to investigate the four remaining Iranians, including the pilot Gholamrez Ghasemi, the mechanic Mohammad Khosraviaragh, Saeid Vali Zadeh and Abdolbaset Mohamamadi.
Likewise, Venezuelans Mario Arraga, Víctor Pérez Gómez and José García Contreras are still being held in Argentina.
The prosecutor Cecilia Incardona and the leaders of the DAIA (Delegation of Argentine Israelite Associations) demanded that everyone stay in the country, arguing that dialogues found on the Iranians’ cell phones remain to be translated, and furthermore, reports from Uruguay remain to be received, Paraguay and the United States.
Emtrasur plane is still held
The Boeing 747 aircraft of the company Emtrasur, a subsidiary of the Venezuelan airline Conviasa, remains held in Argentina since last June 6, with its 19 crew members (14 Venezuelans and five Iranians). In all this time no accusation was made against any of them.
On the other hand, even though on July 26 Judge Villena ordered release the load of the aircraft, it is still held.
Both the plane and its cargo have been inspected and even subjected to investigations with dogs that detect explosives and narcotics, without finding anything of illegal origin.
