Dajabón – Members of the Immigration Control team of the General Directorate of Migration (DGM), supported by the military, detained 111 Haitians in irregular migratory conditions to be in the country, during operations in La Vega, Jarabacoa, and this border province.
During the investigations in inhabited houses, work centers, bus stops and highways, 92 male citizens, 18 females and a child in the company of their parents were detained.
Of those detained, 55 were arrested in La Vega and 48 in Jarabacoa, by these authorities supported by the Dominican Navy and Army.
While 18 were in Dajabón by members of the Specialized Land Border Security Corps (Cesfront).
All of the detainees were taken to the shelter center, where the staff led by Lieutenant Commander Manuel García Montero, in charge of security, and the staff coordinator, Hipólito Alcántara, carry out the purges.
These are carried out in accordance with respect for human rights, to be sent to their territory, through the border bridge between Juana Méndez and Dajabón, where they are taken in trucks and buses to DGM prisons, from the places where they were detained by those authorities.
