100,000 travelers will travel the Bogotá – Girardot route during the return plan

This Monday, October 13, 2025, travelers return to the cities to continue with their usual activities, after the school recess week ended. This being the case, and during the return plan, more than 100,000 travelers are expected to return to Bogotá along the Bogotá–Girardot road corridor, operated by the Vía Sumapaz Concession.

“During this festive long weekend, the Bogotá – Girardot highway has been a connection for thousands of travelers who have enjoyed this week’s break. Today, a return holiday Monday, we expect more than 100,000 vehicles to travel through our corridor; many have already started that journey.”said Hernán Alarcón, director of operations.

It is worth mentioning that travelers arriving in the capital of the country must take into account that the regional peak and plate govern and therefore from 12 noon to 4:00 pm vehicles with odd plates can enter and from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm even ones.

The operators of this road announced that to facilitate mobility, from 12 noon a contraflow will be activated between the Melgar and Boquerón bypass, with three lanes enabled towards the capital, in coordination with the Ministry of Transportation and the Directorate of Traffic and Transportation of the National Police.

“Our mobility plan for the return plan is still active, that is why we have designed a strategy that from the municipality of Melgar to Boquerón, from noon to 7:00 pm we will have a third lane to give three lanes to the city of Bogotá,” Alarcón added.

In addition, the director of operations also called for drivers to carry out an inspection of the vehicles in order to avoid accidents on the road.

“Remember to plan your trip before leaving, have a technical-mechanical check on your vehicle, verify that you have a balance in the electronic toll to quickly pass through the tolls and remember that Bogotá has a regional peak and plate, that is, vehicles with even plates can enter between 12 noon until 4:00 pm and those with an odd plate will have their entry from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and to guarantee a safe return, the “In the corridor, users have traffic and transportation police units along the road, as well as emergency response and operational units of the road corridor,” he added.

And he highlighted that in the morning this road has operated normally and There are no developments that affect mobility.

“Our users permanently have the emergency units of the Concession and at the Chinauta and Chusacá tolls, we have a significant increase in personnel for a more agile passage. We invite our users to plan their return trip in time, drive with caution and arrive safely at their destination.”he pointed out.
