100,000 chickens die in fire in Connecticut

A fire at a Connecticut farm caused the death of 100,000 chickens, in one of the largest companies of its kind in the United States dedicated to egg production.

The fire took several hours to be controlled by dozens of firefighters who arrived at the scene and managed to save another large number of chickens that were in other areas of the farm.

The Department of Agriculture expects a minimal impact on egg prices because this farm had exclusive laying hens for the production of eggs for sale.
