Who can access the $100,000 subsidy?
Who can access this bond of $100,000 are Chilean students, those who are completing their basic, secondary and higher education studies. The Government assures that students can access this bonus through 2 installments.
It is about the Indigenous Scholarship (BI)which consists of a financial contribution to students of basic, measured and higher education that, as can be inferred from their name, have indigenous ancestry and good academic performance.
“In the case of applying for the first time, they must belong to 60% of the most vulnerable population in the country. In the case of students who renew this scholarship, they must be among the 70% of the most vulnerable population in the country,” they say. on the Protection Network site.
The value of the bonus is modified in the case of secondary education, since the support rises to $208,280, also in two installments per year. The requirements are:
- Accredited ancestry.
- Be enrolled in 1st to 4th grade in a public, subsidized private or technical-professional establishment.
- Belong to the RSH in a section of up to 60%.
- Minimum grade average 5.0.
Finally, for those who are pursuing higher education, the bonus amount is set at $654,600 in up to 10 annual installments. It is requested:
- Accredited ancestry.
- Be enrolled in an institution recognized by the State of Chile.
- Belong to the RSH in a section of up to 60%.
- Minimum grade average 4.5 (and 5.0 for average graduates).
What requirements must be met to receive the Indigenous Scholarship?
The requirements to meet are the following:
- Have indigenous ancestry, accredited by the National Corporation for Indigenous Development (CONADI).
- Be enrolled from 5th to 8th grade in a public or subsidized private establishment.
- Minimum grade average 5.0.
- Belong to the Social Registry of Households (RSH) in a section of up to 60%.
Furthermore, the Government clarifies: “The only ones who can apply from 1st grade are people belonging to the Yagán and Kawashkar peoples, without presenting qualifications.”
