The Ministry of Education, in a statement, indicated that this decision arose after the health authorities warned of a reduction in coronavirus infection rates and due to the increase in vaccination levels in the country.
Likewise, the decision is due to the new resolutions of the Emergency Operations Committee (COE), which since Monday decided to eliminate the epidemiological traffic light system, which established different degrees of restriction according to the levels of contagion in each of the country’s jurisdictions. .
Likewise, the COE decided to make the control measures for the mobility of people more flexible during the festive Carnival bridge, which will run from Friday, February 26 to Tuesday, March 1 (4 days).
The Ministry of Education specified that until March 14 the educational system in the coastal zone regime will remain with the On-site attendance of students on a voluntary basiswith a limit on the capacity of the classrooms, based on 2.25 square meters per person, until the end of the school year on March 4.
In the Sierra and Amazonía regime, that same system will be maintained until March 11, since on the 14th the mandatory face-to-face system for all students.
Ecuador currently exceeds 819,800 confirmed cases of contagion with the coronavirus COVID-19 and maintains a downward trend, after the increase that was registered in the first weeks of the year, after the December holidays and the appearance of the omicron variant.
