10-year-old girl dies after being beaten by her mother

The event originated in a home in the Nuevo Macarao urban development, in the Caricuao parish, Libertador municipality of Caracas.

The Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps managed to clarify the murder of Yoneiverly Saulismar Balda Sánchez, 10 years old, confirming that the girl died at the hands of her parent.

The event originated in a home in the Nuevo Macarao urban development, in the Caricuao parish, Libertador municipality of Caracas.

The detained woman was identified as Magaly Josefina Sánchez, 34 years old, who tried to cover up the crime with a medical alibi.

Sánchez took her daughter to the Pastor Oropeza Maternal and Child Hospital, alleging that the girl, while getting ready to go to class, suffered two episodes of vomiting and a seizure before falling unconscious.

Doctors confirmed that the little girl was admitted without vital signs. The autopsy and investigations denied the mother, revealing that the cause of death was hypovolemic shock resulting from multiple internal traumas caused by a beating.

The investigations of the Homicide Coordination determined that the woman attacked the minor using her hands and feet with extreme violence.

The trigger, according to the interviews and field work, were supposed “school problems.”

After the capture by the authorities in the Antímano parish, the woman was placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry, where she will face charges of qualified homicide and infanticide.
