The Mexican team advanced to the semifinals of the Concacaf Champions League with a 2-1 aggregate victory over Montreal after drawing 1-1 on Wednesday night.

The Blue Cross advanced to the semifinals of the Champions League Concacaf with a 2-1 aggregate victory over montreal after to draw 1-1 on Wednesday night. The teams played the second leg of their quarterfinals at the Estadio Olímpico after Liga MX’s Cruz Azul won the first leg 1-0 last week at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.

Cruz Azul will face Pumas UNAM in a semifinal in April. Pumas advanced 4-3 on penalties after drawing 3-3 on aggregate with New England Revolution. After Uriel Antuna’s goal gave Cruz Azul the lead in the 44th minute, Montreal equaled Rudy Camacho’s header in the 79th. Montreal was also down 1-0 after the first leg of their Round of 16 match. against Santos Laguna, but bounced back with a 3–0 win in the second leg to qualify. Montreal was one of four MLS teams to play in the Champions League quarterfinals.
