Saint Lawrence de Almagro won 1-0 at home against Córdoba Central from Santiago del Estero with a goal from Gregorio Rodríguez on the third day of the Argentine soccer Apertura Tournament. In the match played at the Pedro Bidegain stadium, the ‘Ciclón’ won their second consecutive victory after the defeat at home at the start of the competition.
“Accumulating two wins in a row in our football is complex. We owed it to ourselves at home, we really wanted to play here with our people and win,” said technical director Damián Ayude at a press conference. The goal that gave San Lorenzo the victory was scored by Rodríguez in the 55th minute, after a low cross by Alexis Cuello from the left sector.

For its part, at the Libertadores de América stadium, Independiente de Avellaneda drew 1-1 at home against Vélez Sarsfield, adding the third draw and still without winning in the tournament. Vélez opened the scoring in the 31st minute through Jano Gordon, while the same player scored a goal a minute later against his own goal to give Independiente the tie. In other matches on Saturday, Platense won 2-1 on their visit to Talleres de Córdoba, while Atlético Tucumán and Huracán tied 1-1.
