The Central Rosary directed by Carlos Tevez beat this Tuesday by 0-3 to Arsenal at the close of the tenth day of the Argentine League thanks to a ‘double’ from goalkeeper Gaspar Servio and a goal from Alejo Veliz, only 18 years old.
The ‘Apache’ pupils linked their second victory today and now have three in the tournament. Last day, Tevez’s team won the Rosario classic against Newell’s Old Boys, the undefeated leader until then.
Rosario Central is now in thirteenth place with 14 points, one less than River Plate and Boca Juniors, and eight behind the leader Atlético Tucumán.
Goalkeeper Gaspar Servio scored two penalty goals and Veliz, 18, put the icing on the cake. Arsenal, who played with ten from the 20th minute due to Christian Chimino’s expulsion, finished nineteenth with 12 points.
In the other game played this Tuesday, Barracas Central beat Patronato 2-1 in a game that pitted two teams that are fighting to stay in the highest category of Argentine soccer.
Paraguayan Cristian Colmán scored the first goal for Barracas Central, Jonás Acevedo, from a penalty, scored the equalizer and Colombian Sebastián Rincón gave the locals the win in added time. Barracas Central was 20th with 12 points and Patronato, with two more, is 12th.
The leader of the Argentine League is Atlético Tucumán, who beat Independiente 0-1 on Sunday and reached 22 points. It is followed by 20 Argentinos Juniors, who drew 1-1 with Banfield on Monday.
Racing Club, who beat Central Córdoba 1-3, Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, who beat Lanús 1-0 and Unión, who beat Godoy Cruz 2-1, have 18 points. With the same 15 they match River Plate, who thrashed Aldosivi 0-3, and Boca Juniors, who beat Estudiantes 3-1.
The eleventh day will begin this Friday and will end on Monday of next week.
