The Eagles of Americawho played 38 minutes with one man less on the pitch, tied goalless this Saturday with goats of Guadalajara and left the last place in the Clausura 2022 tournament of Mexican soccer.
In the Classic of the league, América suffered in the 52nd minute the expulsion of Jonathan Dos Santos and although he noticed it in the first moments after the drop, the match was ordered and rescued.
Guadalajara had possession of the ball in the first half and, although it had a couple of arrivals in the rival area, it did not make a difference in its favor in the initial 45 minutes of much struggle. América was close to the goal with a shot from Colombian Roger Martínez, about to close in the first half, but the ball went out.
In the second part, Guadalajara came out to impose conditions. In minute 52 Hiram Mier crashed a ball into the crossbar and immediately his team was left with one more man on the field due to the expulsion of Jonathan Dos Santos.
Guadalajara tried to take advantage of the superiority. In minute 56 ‘Alexis Vega shot from the outside and in minute 57’ Jesús Angulo was close to the goal, but his shot was stopped by goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa.
América stood up well in the last half hour and saved the tie that raised the team to penultimate place with seven points, the same as Mazatlán, while Guadalajara is ninth with 12.
Before, Cruz Azul beat Pumas
A couple of hours before, Paraguayan Juan Escobar converted the goal with which Cruz Azul, led by Peruvian coach Juan Reynoso, led 2-1 over Pumas UNAM.
Escobar and Peruvian Luis Abram converted for the Reynoso Blues, while Argentine Favio Álvarez scored for Argentine coach Andrés Lillini’s Pumas.
The weekend’s matches began this Friday when Necaxa beat Querétaro 1-0 with a goal from Heriberto Jurado, Atlas defeated Juárez FC with goals from Colombian Julián Quiñones and Argentine Julio Furch, and Monterrey, 2-1 against Mazatlan, with notes from Colombian Stefan Medina and Costa Rican Joel Campbell.
This Saturday the Tigres UANL thrashed León 0-3 in their own stadium with goals from the French André Pierre Gignac, confirmed as the leader of the scorers with eight, and Florian Thauvin, and the Colombian Luis Quiñones.
The tenth day of the tournament will end this Sunday with the Toluca-Pachuca, San Luis-Puebla and Santos Laguna-Tijuana matches.
